What classes are being offered?

A complete list of executive courses being offered can be found on our Executive Education section of the website.

 

Who can register for the classes?

Georgetown University is subject to the embargo and economic sanctions regulations promulgated by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). As such, the following categories of persons will not be able to enroll or participate in programs or activities in which Georgetown is involved, unless such enrollment or participation is authorized under applicable OFAC regulations or by an OFAC general or specific license:

Citizens or residents of countries subject to a comprehensive U.S. embargo (Crimea Region of the Ukraine, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria); it being understood that citizens of any country who are ordinarily resident in non-sanctioned countries – as demonstrated by an ID or residence permit for that country – will be allowed to enroll unless subject to clause (2) below.

Participants must be 18 years or older. Program prerequisites are listed in the course profiles on the website.


Who is teaching the classes?

Please refer to the Executive Education Program section of the website for more information about the course instructors.

 

When do classes start?

Please refer to the Executive Education Program for details of the days that each certificate is offered. All classes will run from 7:30 am - 16:30 p.m. in the afternoon.

 

Where can I park?

Parking will be available at the course venue (to be determined). Participants will receive an email in advance of the start of the short courses with exact information regarding parking.

 

Where are the classes held?

Subject to enrollment and availability classes are expected to be held at a hotel or conference center in West Bay, Doha, Qatar.  Participants will receive an email in advance of the start of classes with specific location information. GU-Q staff and signage will also assist participants in finding the correct room on the day of the course.

 

What do I need to read for my course?

All reading materials will be provided either in hardcopy or electronic format by the instructor.

 

Will there be exams or a final grade for the course?

No grades are assigned for the Executive Education program courses, and there are no exams.

 

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Participants who attend both days of the short courses will receive a certificate of expertise.

 

Can I use the GU-Q library?

Yes, you are welcome to access the GU-Q Library and its resources while on campus. If you want to sign out materials, you will need to sign up for GU-Q’s Public Patron access program at your own expense. More details about the Public Patron program can be found on this page.

 

How much do the courses cost and how do I pay?

The cost for each course is $ 1850 / QR 6750 and can be paid by one of the following methods:

  • Online
  • In person at the GU-Q Bookstore

Payment by cash or credit card can be made at the GU-Q Bookstore during regular hours of operation (Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).

 

Can I get a discount on the course fees?

If you register on or before April 6, 2017, you will receive an early bird discounted rate of $ 1665 / QR 6000. In addition, Alumni* and Qatar Foundation (QF) members will receive a discounted rate of $ 1385 / QR 5000 for the duration of the program.

*Applies to all Georgetown University alumni, Community Class alumni and participants in previous GUQ Certificate Programs. To be eligible please use your Georgetown or QF email address or the email address used to register for previous GUQ Certificate programs.

 

What is the withdrawal and refund policy?

Participants wishing to withdraw from any course must do so no later than 24 hours prior to the start of the course.  Fees may be transferred to another course offering (pending space availability) or refunded.

While refunds may be processed within two to three days, credit card refunds may take up to a month to show on your account statement. An admin fee of 50 Qatari Riyals will be charged for refunds.

 

Can classes be canceled?

GU-Q reserves the right to cancel classes where enrollment is not sufficient, or due to other unforeseen circumstances. A full refund will be issued when a class is canceled.
